Paranaque, Philippines – 22 June 2019. Lana Lane conducted an Aromatherapy for School
Children Workshop at The Work Pod, 2/F Lipams Building in BF Homes Paranaque. This aromatherapy
and essential oil workshop designed for people interested in learning about the safe use of essential
oils.
Lana Lane is a passion project aimed at providing affordable and effective essential oil blends as a
complementary tool to one’s health arsenal. Now on its third installment, the company also conducts
workshops as a source of scientifically sound information about essential oils. While the use of essential
oils has enjoyed a threefold increase over the past three years, it also suffered from a proliferation of
misinformation and consequent improper application.
Hands-on Workshop
“The moment I started using essential oils in 2017, I immediately fell in love because it reminds me
of my Mom and Lola who used natural medicine in addressing common ailments - from oregano plant for
cough, aloe vera for burns and so on. Where I grew up in a small community in Negros, applying oils was
common practice. I named my company Lana because it is the Hiligaynon term for “oil,” and Lane to
symbolize the path to natural wellness that they take us,” said Ernalou “Balot” Amechachura-Del Rosario,
founder of Lana Lane.
“I soon discovered that not a lot of individuals, especially mothers who are working on a budget,
can afford to buy expensive starter kits which can range from P7,000 to P10,000. They’ll likely end up using
only a handful of these oils! With the innumerable quantity of information sources, many of which can be
conflicting and biased toward brands, the process of learning about essential oils’ proper use can be a long,
uphill climb when embarked alone. We are here to support users in their journey, by providing reliable
information on the use of essential oils as well as offering essential oil blends that they can readily use,
both of which they can be assured conforms to the strict safety standards set by the National Association of
Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) and other professional aromatherapy organizations,” she added.
Balot Amechachura-Del Rosario is the woman behind Lana Lane. She is a graduate of Aromahead
Institute of Essential Oil Studies and took certification classes from the Tisserand Institute and Franklin
