One of the items that is truly Ilocano is called "Empanada". This one at Stoops is similar to the empanadas made in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, and has the distinctive orange crunchy wrapping. Stoops Empanada contains cabbage, mung beans sprouts, and egg. This empanada is best eaten with Ilocos vinegar. The pancit with bagnet is a full, balanced meal, good for one to two people. The sinanglaw is a hearty soup, made from beef innards and has the defined ginger-pepper taste that makes it so good to eat.
