NOVUHAIR turns favor with Holiday bash promo

So you’ve got your festive outfit set and the fancy gift wrapped for your “monito” or “monita”. All that’s left undone is a party season-perfect hairstyle. The fresh out of the shower look can be seductive yet temporary. Blame it to tropical climate, it can spoil your appearance, besides making you feel sweaty and stale. The heat and humidity brought about by extreme weather condition, likewise, dries out the locks easily and make it more fragile.

Adding damage to your delicate strands are the chemical contents of various products on hand. From shampoo to conditioner and hair treatment, down to styling goods to groom it to your liking, their harsh synthetic materials jeopardize the natural oil and luster of your mane.

Because you are what you eat, the fate of your crowning glory is in the plate. Your diet must have the correct balance of vitamins and minerals to supply hair with all that it needs to become shiny and strong. So don’t overindulge, especially this time of the year when gastronomic feasts are spread almost everywhere you go. Be careful on what you take in, thinking that it’s also what you feed your ‘do. Even stress can wear off the beauty and health of the tress.

And that’s exactly what you should avoid this Yuletide season. Never put pressure on yourself just to please everyone. Just take it easy, let your hair down and party all night long.

In this time of gratitude, NOVUHAIR makes everyday “a good hair day” for its valued patrons like you with its Christmas and Year-End Promo.

Get an extra NOVUHAIR Herbal Shampoo 200 ml. worth P1,040 for FREE if you buy a NOVUHAIR 3-in- 1 pack at participating WATSONS stores nationwide (DOH-FDA CCRR Permit No.: 967 s. 2017).

New Handwashing Music Video of Alden Richards Sets the Tune for a worry-free Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly and worry-free; as Safeguard, the nation’s leading soap that stands for germ-protection; sets the tune for a healthy Christmas celebration with the newest hand-washing music video, “Five Hugas ng Krismas.”

Featuring the charming voice of local celebrity and “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards, the music video stresses the importance of having clean hands this Yuletide season through a colorful and energetic finger-tutting choreography set to a classic Christmas melody. This is Safeguard’s creative response to an alarming discovery from the first Philippine Handwashing Index (PHI), with results showing that most Filipinos do not wash their hands regularly and diligently. PHI is a breakthrough study commissioned by Safeguard to have a closer look at the hand-washing habits of Filipinos.

The message of the music video is simple yet impactful: “Ang bawat hugas, dapat Safeguard hugas”. This means only trusting the best when it comes to germ-protection, by simply following these five non-negotiables on when to wash your hands: before mag-mano, after banyo, before kumain, after playing, and before mag-bonding.

“A joyful Christmas is a Christmas that is spent with family and friends – happy and worry-free. A lot of us take hand-washing for granted, and since is it a good way to prevent illnesses, it’s important to remind the people to continuously wash their hands the Safeguard way,” says Alden Richards.

Director Sid Maderazo and Assistant Director Manman Angsico, a veteran theater actor and vocal coach, are the masterminds behind the creative execution of the “Five Hugas ng Krismas” music video. In it, the finger-tutting choreography features five hands that represent the five points of the star – reminiscent of the Filipino Christmas parol. For the background, sliding panels and creative props help depict the different times one should remember to wash their hands, specifically during those festive moments that define a Filipino Christmas. From bonding with the family over karaoke, to digging in on the delicious spread of local rice cakes, the music video is a fun and creative way to create awareness about the value of hand-washing.

“Sometimes the simplest of ideas can be the most challenging. The intention was to shoot the scenes seamlessly with live moving backgrounds. The easy route was to use green screen, but where’s the fun in that? It was all about great team work from everyone involved, and in the goal of sharing about an advocacy worth sharing to kids and the young-at-heart alike,” shares Director Sid Maderazo.

Clean hands for every Filipino

Through the Five Hugas ng Krismas music video, Safeguard aims to address the serious problem with the poor hand-washing habits of Filipinos, which was uncovered by the first Philippine Handwashing Index. The study found that seven out of ten Filipinos claim to wash their hands with soap after using a public toilet, but only two really do. To add, only water is being used when hand-washing by 60% of women before cooking, and 40% of women before feeding their kids

Children are the most prone to sickness, yet 66% of Filipinos have noticed or witnessed children not washing hands after using the toilet; and 40% of Filipinos do not wash their hands before touching young children.

“The results of the Philippine Handwashing Index prompted Safeguard to come up with a creative solution to keep hand-washing a top-of-mind habit in every home. Through “Five Hugas ng Krismas”, we want to work together to instill proper hand-washing habits in time of the holiday season, where Filipinos touch and and are in frequent contact with relatives and friends,” explains Jia Salindong-Du, Safeguard Philippines Brand Manager.

For over five decades, Safeguard has been a dedicated hand-washing advocate, promoting proper hand-washing habits with a wide range of antibacterial soaps that provide family protection against germs for up to 24 hours.

Watch and share the Five Hugas ng Krismas music video to spread awareness about the proper handwashing habits this season of joy.

NEVER LET LOSE A STRAND OF YOUR PATIENCE

Have you ever experienced a day wherein nothing seems to go well, that no matter how you try to choose the right path, you keep making the wrong turn? Just like having a bad hair day, no matter how many times you comb your hair, it just would not budge.

Life can be challenging at times but there will always be a way to resolve these challenges and come out victorious. Having this in mind will be easy to keep your patience and continue to move forward.

Just like losing strands of your hair due to factors beyond your control, you too can do something.

·         Eat healthy – Eating the right food can alter your mood. Having low-level of folic acid in your body can cause anxiety, hence, food such as asparagus, avocado, salmon, and almond are recommended to fight stress hormones.
·         Stay calm – Listen to comforting music and reading feel-good stories can help switch you to a calm mood.
·         Exercise – Exercise releases endorphins that can relieve you from stress and anxiety.
·         Supplement –Taking in Vitamins such as B-complex can alter mood swings.

Don’t let your stress factors contribute to your hair loss. Letting yourself succumb to anxiety will definitely show up to your follicles and this can lead to more hair loss.

Hectic schedules and pressure from work, not to mention the pollution and filth outside easily make you feel unease and, at times, irritable. Slow down a bit, have fun and relax. There’s no better way to begin with your mane.

Tip 1:  The stroke of a comb can give you a soothing feeling while, at the same time, help unleash the natural oil of your hair.

Tip 2:  Stay away from getting pigtails, hair weaves, braids and tight hair rollers, which can pull and stress your hair.

Tip 3: Avoid perming, straightening or coloring because they contain toxic chemicals that could cause damage to your locks.

Tip 4: Choose natural. Use NOVUHAIR topical solution. Apply liberal amount on to your scalp and hair. Massage it gently for -10 minutes to help permeate deeply from root to tip. NOVUHAIR is packed with 19 natural ingredients that help promote growth, nourishment and rejuvenation of your tress.

NOVUHAIR is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide. For more information, please contact hotlines 4136570 and 09228830575 from Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm or visit www.novuhair.com

Citizens living in the north are about to witness a magnificent Christmas spectacle as Ayala Land Inc., in the spirit of gratitude, brings its highly acclaimed lights and sounds show to Quezon City this year.

Spreading the magic of Christmas, Ayala Land Inc. is bringing the first ever Vertis Northern Lights, an enchanting Christmas fete patterned after Makati’s Festival of Lights, to northern Metro Manila this holiday season right in the heart of Quezon City. Beyond spreading magical moments, the show aims to bring people together in the spirit of gratitude for the many joys that Christmas brings.

On November 16, 2017, a dazzling light and sound display never before seen in this part of the city, will usher in the Christmas season. A giant Cathedral exquisitely covered with thousands of lights, comes ablaze at the Vertis North grounds, transforming it into a magical wonderland that brings to life the wonders of Christmas. The theme was inspired by the Filipino culture of attending Simbang Gabi, where Christmas season in the Philippines begin. This ties back to the idea of the Vertis Northern Lights signifying the start of Christmas in Vertis North.

The light installations are sure to wrap everyone in the joys of the season. Veering away from the traditional red and green Christmas colors, the Cathedral is draped with thousands of LED lights for the full production which includes cyber spheres, meteor lights, intelligent lights, and laser lights that produces a variety of hues. The dĆ©cor’ was beautifully executed by renowned designer Zenas Pineda, and the Cathedral by award-winning Voltaire de Jesus.

The musical medleys have three distinct themes – Pinoy Fiesta by Roy del Valle, Traditional Christmas by Von de Guzman, and Techno Christmas by Tris Suguitan. Each one boasts of a different mood, pace, and rhythm, while retaining the Christmas cheer that brings people together and envelopes everyone in the spirit of the season.

“Christmas is the most awaited season of the year, and to show our gratitude to the communities and people around us, Ayala Land Inc. thought it was high time to bring our award-winning Christmas light and sound show to northern Metro Manila. This will allow residents of the north to experience and immerse themselves in the sights, colors, and sounds of Christmas here in Quezon City,” said Jay Teodoro, Estate Head of Vertis North.

Throughout the holiday season, various activities will be held at Ayala Malls Vertis North, Seda Vertis North & ABS- CBN Vertis Tent– from Christmas Bazaars to holiday sales, to Christmas carols at the lobby and many more exciting activities and promos.

The lights and sounds show is now present in the Ayala land Estates, namely: Makati, Nuvali, Bonifacio Global City, Centrio - Cagayan de Oro, and Ayala Center Cebu – spreading the sights and sounds of Christmas to more people.

Herbalife Nutrition Survey Reveals Filipinos Concerned About Aging-Related Health Issues but Underestimate the Importance of Nutrition in Healthy Aging

PHILIPPINES, October 19, 2017 – Premier global nutrition company, Herbalife Nutrition has released findings from its Asia Pacific Healthy Aging Survey, which uncovered insights into the aging-related concerns and attitudes of consumers in the region. Conducted with 6,000 respondents aged 40 and above across 12 countries in Asia Pacific, including 500 from Philippines, the survey revealed that while majority of consumers are concerned about the potential health issues caused by aging and believe that active steps can be taken to help them age healthily, many of them underestimate the importance of nutrition in healthy aging.

According to the survey findings, 96% of Filipino-respondents are concerned about the potential health issues caused by aging, citing heart-related, bone/joint-related, eye-related issues topping their list of concerns. However, despite the high levels of concern, 94% of respondents agree that they can take active steps to help age healthily.

Among the steps that the Filipino-respondents will take to age healthily, 40% of respondents will most likely engage in more regular physical activity. In comparison, only 32% of respondents said they will most likely make better nutrition choices, five percent (5%) said they will take supplements, and nine percent (9%) will go for more regular medical check-ups.

“While the majority of respondents have shown their concern about health issues related to aging, findings also show that many seemed to have taken a laid-back stance in preparing for a better quality of their lives as they age,” said Mr. Rosalio Valenzuela, General Manager of Herbalife Philippines. “As a premier global nutrition company, we are taking a proactive move to invigorate our efforts to help consumers, especially those outside urban Manila, become more aware of the need for balanced nutrition and physical activity as well as associated benefits to one’s long term  well-being.”

Besides revealing insights into the aging-related health concerns and the steps that Filipino consumers are most willing to take to prevent them, the survey also uncovered the following:

·         When asked about their perception of the state of their own health, the majority – 87% of the respondents consider themselves equally healthy or more healthy than others.

·         However, for heart, emotional and mental health where early signs of anomalies are not easily detected, they displayed higher levels of confidence in the state of their well-being, with 91%, 92%, and 97% of respondents considering themselves equally healthy or more healthy than others respectively, putting them at risk of overestimating the state of their own health.

·         When asked about the biggest obstacles towards healthy aging, lack of time, cost, and lack of motivation were generally seen as the biggest obstacles toward healthy aging.

To provide tips on how consumers can live a healthy active life, with a focus on healthy aging, Herbalife Nutrition launched its 8th Asia Pacific Wellness Tour. Taking place from September 4 to October 26, the Tour will feature a series of medical symposia, nutrition talks and health workshops held in cities across Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Led by Dr. John Agwunobi, the Chief Health and Nutrition Officer at Herbalife Nutrition, members of the Herbalife Nutrition leadership and the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) will share their expertise on a variety of health-related topics, to help Asia Pacific consumers live better and healthier lives.

“At Herbalife Nutrition, we believe in taking a proactive approach to help people cultivate good nutrition habits, incorporate regular physical activity, consume the right supplements and schedule regular health check-ups for their personal well-being,” said Dr. Agwunobi. “Through the Asia Pacific Wellness Tour, we will impart valuable tips and advice to help people in the Philippines harness the power of nutrition to prevent aging-related issues for a long, fulfilling life.”

Samantha Clayton, Senior Director for Sports Performance and Fitness of HerbalifeNutrition will be visiting the Philippines on October 18, to share expert advice on healthy active lifestyle during the Wellness Tour.

El Mateo: Organic Food Products

Mixed berries with Chia seeds spread, Cheesy Pesto Pate, Chilisioso, Salmon Pate

For gourmet food that is truly organic, there is a brand that will satisfy.

El Mateo organic food products has that touch of originality in the recipes that levels up the standard  and still adheres to what we expect to tantalize our gourmet taste. These products are party-worthy and elegant, and will be perfect to consume daily, as it is in "good taste."

The mixed berries with Chia seeds has that rich blueberries edge. With the Chia seeds which are acclaimed to be a weight loss product, this ingredient amount in this spread does aid in making you feel more satisfied while adding Omega-3 to the intake. The detox and anti-oxidant quality of this spread is excellent. It is great to eat on crackers, bread, and can be used as a topping for whipped cream and to sweeten and decorate baked food products such as cupcakes.

The salmon pate has a delightful pinkish color, showing that it is made from pink salmon. This is the fish spread that has no preservatives and it is not salty at all. It has dill, which does enhance the flavor and the thick spread texture.

The cheese pesto spread has that Italian taste, without the overpowering cheese flavor that serves to simply enhance it by triggering that food craving for cheese. This pate has the wonders of basil which makes it a healthy choice.

Both the salmon pate and cheese pesto spread can be eaten with crackers, bread, and used as a dip.

And, there is the Chilichoso, made from fresh chilis. The heat level is high and can be used in very small amounts. It is not oily and has the kick that can add that zing to any sauce and dish.

Note that all these products are made without preservatives and must be kept refrigerated.

Ayala Malls Cloverleaf is located along A. Bonifacio Avenue but is also accessible from EDSA through the newly opened Cloverleaf Drive entrance adjacent to the Balintawak LRT station. It will offer a wide array of shopping, dining and entertainment choices spread across 40,000 square meters of leasable commercial space. As the primary retail offering in Cloverleaf, it is expected to promote community events and give the public a glimpse of life in the emerging urban center.

The mall is part of Cloverleaf’s first phase which also includes residential developments designed around refreshing pocket parks. Ayala Land residential brands Alveo Land and Avida Land are currently constructing multiple-tower developments with 600 and 2,000 units, respectively. About 2,600 jobs would have been generated by ongoing construction activity and operating facilities in the urban center by 2020 while an estimated 15,000 new jobs are projected to be created upon its full development.

“Soon, there will be residential towers to complete the community, and we are looking forward to the second phase of the development which includes an office and new retail formats with a pedestrian walkway that connects to the LRT Balintawak station,” shared Teodoro.

While Cloverleaf primarily serves communities in the northern side of Metro Manila, specifically Quezon City and Caloocan, forthcoming infrastructure and transport systems will make it more accessible to a larger population. The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 road will have an access ramp to the project which will effectively take people only 20 minutes to get to the place from Makati. A series of interconnected pathways and landscaped walkways will be built from the LRT station to A. Bonifacio where pedestrians converge to redirect the flow and ease any road blocks along EDSA.

With its diverse mix of property offerings, modern infrastructure underway, and a Balintawak community brimming with potential, Cloverleaf is indeed a sustainable urban community in the making.

KiSs Juice Drink Review

KiSs Juice Drink is sweetened with Stevia. Totally deliciously refreshing, the non-cloudy juice has no settling of particles.

Comparable to those large liter imported juice, the orange juice has the right lightness and the taste leans towards a blend of Mandarin and Valencia oranges.

The apple juice is fabulous as it does taste great, rich, and refreshing.

When buying juice, we must check the label. KiSs has the Stevia substitute is natural, made from the plant that is 400 times sweeter than sugar but without the effects of bringing up blood sugar levels.

Buying juice is a decision based not only on what is in it but the taste - and buying KiSs is a wise decision.

Proudly Filipino made, manufactured by Stedgro Incorporated, a beverage company that aims to provide a healthier alternative to consumers.

DISCOVER WHY CHEMICAL-BASED PRODUCTS FOR HAIR LOSS MIGHT NOT WORK FOR YOU

Desperate times call for desperate measures. When you’re losing tufts of hair or seeing bald patches on your scalp, it’s but natural to feel the need to do something about it.

Will you tell a friend or go immediately to a doctor? Will you hide the “shame” under the guise of a wig? While it’s quite hard to decide, there’s no way but people still find themselves falling in line over-the-counter (O.T.C.). And what’s on their hands? Chemical-based hair loss products. Here are some of the reasons why they impulsively buy these items:

a.)   They claim to be effective.
b.)   They say the healing effects are felt quickly.
c.)   They are widely available.
d.)   They appear to be cheaper.
e.)   They claim to be safe.

Sounds tempting, though, be wary enough that once you delve into the nitty-gritty of these products available to allegedly promote hair growth, you’ll see why they may not exactly be a perfect fit. These are some of the negative possibilities when you use chemical treatments:

1.    Serious side effects like tightness in the chest, difficulty in breathing, rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), and swelling of the hands and feet. These are actually some of the possible side effects of the hair loss drug Minoxidil, which is said to cease hair loss and promote hair growth.

2.    Most chemical products say they can “treat” alopecia, but reading the fine print will lead you to discover that it actually just slows the progress of hair loss. Little is said as well about these chemical treatments actually promoting hair growth.

3.    These products or “treatments” usually contain a variety of chemicals that may or may not cause allergic reactions. It pays to check the labels. Some chemical-based products may actually be presenting the side effects as the main effects. Let the internet help you on your personal research.

There may be safer and effective alternatives out there, but NOVUHAIR is a stand out among the rest. It has 19 natural ingredients—standardized herbal extracts, essential oils and co-factor nutrients that work in synergy and have been clinically proven to help stop the progression of hair loss, aid in stimulating hair growth, and reduce excessive hair shedding.

NOVUHAIR is available in the Philippines at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide, Seafood City supermarkets and other Filipino/Asian stores in the USA and online at www.novuhair.us and at BeeOrganic in Kuwait. International online orders are also possible through regaloservice.com. For more information, you may visit www.novuhair.com or contact hotlines 4136570 and 09228830575.

Don’t make yourself fall as the next victim of the trap. Be smart; choose natural.
