Having gone to Blogapalooza 2015 early with my youngest daughter, Almond, I was delighted to see that it was a fun while working event. The Business to Blogger 'B2B' wasn't boring and super formal at all. That was a relief as it was a Sunday out with my kid, and turned out to be pleasant time.
The businesses had booths and there was various activities which I will write about in a future post as I just have to write this onenow!
Rivermaya at Blogapalooza
When I looked at the photo booth of JB Music, I noticed a guy sitting on a stool, strumming his guitar quietly, his hair tossed to partially cover his face. As I approached, the girl of that booth said, "Would you like to have your picture taken with Rivermaya?" I peered, and still could not see the guitar player's face. "Who is that?" I asked.
"That's Norby. And the other one is Ryan. The other members haven't arrived yet."
Oh, I was delighted to here that. Norby! The last time I watched him play was during an acoustic Wednesday night at Checkpoint Rock Bar in BF that my other daughter, Sarah, manages. I still clearly recall his haunting, lingering tune, and remembered that he had so kindly accommodated and sang a song from Sting which was "Message in a Bottle" upon my request.
I moved closer and said, "Norby?". He looked up after I disturbed his concentration, and said, "You're the mom of Sarah! Are you a blogger, too?"
"Yes!" Then we talked for a while as Almond, who works at Swivel Lifestyle Lounge in BF knew the son of Ryan. Then we had our picture taken.
Norby is humble, unassuming, and pleasant. And, Ryan, is also very pleasant and conversational, too, like most #Checkpoint rockers - it's life devoted to making music, enjoying the now, and not delving on issues, that's why I like the rock and surf lifestyle.
Moments
For me, the best part of the Blogapalooza event was meeting new people and seeing friends, and creating bonding moments that makes relationships.

Manila Under Fire Cooks
When my daughter said she was going to drop by the place that I worked at in Tagaytay, she first said there will be two of then. As that Saturday draw nearer, the number of visitors to arrive multiplied, just like Gremlins when they get wet.
Though the group was going to bring food, I had to make food too, and with these Kanin Lords arriving, it was time to make a lot of rice, for tomorrow never dies basta may extra rice. I was excited, of course, as sheer fun with lot of laughter was a sure thing. That Saturday, my daughter, Allison arrived, she is the one on the right of this pic below, more friends, and Gab Gamboa and Bigs VillaseƱor, the frontman and guitarist of Manila Under Fire, the Pambangsa Muziklaban Grand Champion band of 2013, came over a while after.
It was chill time, no issues, enjoy a great break. Bigs was the official tester of every sofa in the place, crashing in each one. And, FYI, he doesn't snore.
Going heavy on the carb intake! Pasta, ulam with more rice please, and I made pita dough for grilling. And, Gabbie went to the grill and did the cooking! Hot off the grill, Bigs was the one that helped with plating to serve the group.
One pita bread hot of the grill is never enough, as I made the usual balsamic vinegar and oil and got creative making a pizza sauce dip that was a total hit.
This Manila Under Fire music video was complimented by a director friend who said that he liked the way they used the rails and the way the camera moved. The music? It rocks! And, the band members? Charming, polite, and awesomely fun to be with, oh, and did I mention good-looking?
