A Junker's Point of View: Trash is Treasure

Living in a trash dump to a heaven-sent place

We all have our woes in life. It is difficult not to compare our problems, thinking we are better off. There is that thing called ranking. Yet, our problems are our problems and when we notice another way of looking at what other people feel about the concern, we may seem very ungrateful.

The comfort zone for various people is different. Some have lived a life of strife, not knowing anything better, and what we think is terrible is actually fabulous from them.

Real Story:

There is this 20-year-old who lived in a trash dump working as a junker. He has no real home nor gets to eat more than once a day. He is one of the poorest of the poor but working to make money by picking up trash like plastic bottles and paper to sell it.

Then, he was arrested along with others and detained. He is happy. Probably, one of the happiest people on earth to be sent to a detention cell. It might seem crazy to some people for anyone to be happy to be behind bars.

That young man is happy because he lives in a cleaner place. He has food to eat, a bathroom to use, and gets to watch TV. He was able to eat Jollibee food. He says, this detention cell is like a hotel for me and was thanking the arresting officers for giving him a better life.

Life is half full or half empty, depending on your point of view.
