Blu Energy Drink Advantage

Blue Energy Drink has the fizz that isn't found in most canned and bottled energy drinks. This fizz makes it have a bubbly sensation. Since Blu can also be used as a drink mixer, this fizz is a plus when you make those mocktails and cocktails.

Blu has long-lasting effect. The energy boost is strong and consistent. It does work as to make one get the extra perk needed for an active day and that brain boost for long working nights as it has taurine.

Blu Energy Drink has 6 different flavors. These are all refreshingly light.

The advantage of drinking Blu Energy Drink is that it does not increase the heart beat rate, does not cause palpitations, which is a typical effect of other energy drinks.

When in need of that extra push or when in want of a mixer with that kind of bull kicker, there is a delicious choice which is Blu Energy Drink.

Dentist Advice: Prevention and Treatment: Periodontal Disease

"There’s a huge difference between regular, routine teeth cleaning and deep cleaning (scaling and root planing). Periodontal disease causes harmful bacteria that can even destroy your jaw bone and other nearby structures and in extreme cases lead to tooth loss. Preventive cleaning from a dentist guarantees a healthy mouth. It should be typically performed after every six months."

If you have gum concerns, loose teeth, and are worried about periodontal disease and would like to get professional cleaning done, there is an expert dentist that has beautiful office with complete facilities and even strong wifi at the Mall of Asia area.

Finding dental care is best when the dentist offers painless solutions. Good oral health can be achieved as a plan of action can be done for your concerns. From the simplest extraction to the most complicated problems such as a broken tooth from an accident, there is a great dentist to be found right beside the Manila Bay. Pasay area has the large Mall of Asia. This place has a lot of parking. Right beside it are other buildings and these include the SMX Convention Center. There is a dentist there that is right in the corner from Conrad Hotel. There is easy access to this dental clinic and a lot of nearby parking. It is also easy to be dropped off there using Uber or Grab, and there is a transport terminal at the front of the Mall of Asia.

Many of us are afraid of dental practitioners. We might even go to have a procedure done only when there is an emergency such as a painful tooth that needs to be extracted or like when there is a worse case such as an abscessed tooth. There are a few who are terrified of going to the dentist and will try to self-medicate, taking pain killers and antibiotics, yet there is no need to do so and extend the pain and suffering when one can get pain relief and the solution from an expert dentist.

THE DANGERS OF SIDE EFFECTS PRESENTED AS MAIN EFFECTS

In the medical world, proper use of words is highly called for because a simple mistake could complicate things usually unwanted for the patients. Because this field has full of jargons that mostly are too technical to not easily be sifted and digested by the general public, putting them in a layman’s term is indeed helpful.

A good example of which are the words “side effect” and “main effect”. These, are more often than not, interchanged or used instead of the other. Doing so is not just wrong but also dangerous to the people’s health.

A side effect of any substance pertains to the result beyond the main or primary action that is intended by the physician giving drug prescription. The doctor, likewise, foresees this extra consequence.

For instance, the patient might not be conscious of the side effect of unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body while using vasodilator drug called Minoxidil to treat hypertension. The physician, nevertheless, is very well aware about it, as well as other implications, such as burning or irritation of the eye, itching, and redness or irritation at the treated area. By and large, doctors suggest that patients should ignore the side effects unless serious and often alert the sick persons about their likelihood.

But not all the side effects are boon. They are bane, too, hence, they are often used as a therapeutic benefit in the pharmaceutical industry. Like the Minoxidil which, initially was developed to treat high blood pressure. People taking it reported an unusual side effect: Hair began to grow on various parts of their bodies. In this case, the downside of the drug is controlled and employed for a beneficial and therapeutic effect judiciously. It is noted that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved prescription of two percent (2%) Minoxidil topical solution for hair loss in men in 1988 and for women in 1992.

An adverse effect, on the other hand, is identified as an outcome wherein the reaction occurs over and beyond the main and wanted action of a medicine. Both the physician and the patient don’t know about it as a consequence of taking such treatment. It can happen simply due to incorrect dosage. Undesirably, this is very harmful as it can exacerbate the prognosis of the disease. Occasionally, if the adverse effect is too serious, there might be a need for hospitalization.

Just like the Sildenafil Citrate— a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Its most common adverse reactions (≥ 2%) include headache, flushing, dyspepsia, abnormal vision, nasal congestion, back pain, myalgia, nausea, dizziness and rash. Patients should seek emergency treatment if an erection lasts over four hours. Patients should stop Sildenafil Citrate and seek medical care if a sudden decrease or loss of hearing and also that of vision in one or both eyes.

Since side effects paired with adverse effects can be fatal and need to be reversed or given antidote immediately, a very extra cautious effort not to interchange them with the main effects in the prescription process must be always observed. After all, it’s the lives of patients at stake here.

It’s ironic to note that people who seek treatments for their ailments or to prolong their lives become sicker or morbidly end up six feet underground simply because of such medical error. So, it’s still best to deal with health conditions like hair loss the natural way, especially with NOVUHAIR that offers the safe and natural effects.

With 19 natural ingredients—mostly standardized herbal extracts, essential oils and co-factor nutrients—it does not only help prevent the hair loss malady, but also aid in stimulating growth of the “crowning glory.” Set aside those chemical-based topical scalp solutions out there. Choose natural, choose NOVUHAR!

Experts state that less sugar, more physical activity is needed to prevent diabetes

FAME Inc. Publisher Dr. Rafael Castillo with Dr. Joy Arabelle C. Fontanilla, DiabetEASE Magazine Editor-in-Chief; Dr. Augusto D. Litonjua, Father of Philippine Endocrinology; and Dr. Pepito dela Pena, President of Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (PSEDM) lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Sweet Escape: Hataw Na 2017 held last August 18 at Starmall, Alabang

MANILA, PHILIPPINES—Friendly Alliances and Media Expressions (FAME) Inc., publisher of DiabetEASE Magazine, conducted the Sweet Escape: Hataw Na 2017, an annual advocacy event promoting awareness on the risks, prevention, and management of diabetes mellitus last August 18, Friday at Starmall Activity Center, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

DiabetEASE Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief and head of Center for Weight Intervention and Nutrition Services (WINS) at St. Luke's Medical Center - Global City Dr. Joy Arabelle C. Fontanilla said that diabetes is a deadly disease which should be properly addressed to alleviate the ballooning of number of people with diabetes.

Dr. Joy Arabelle C. Fontanilla, Head of Center for Weight Intervention and Nutrition Services (WINS) at St. Luke's Medical Center - Global City and DiabetEASE Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief

“In every six seconds, there is one person with diabetes who dies from diabetes somewhere in the world,” said Dr. Fontanilla.

With such an alarming figure, she cited tips and advice on how diabetes and its complications can be prevented.

Lahat po tayo ay kumain nang tama, mag-ehersisyo, have a healthy lifestyle so that we can prevent the complications and onset of diabetes,” she added.

In recent years, diabetes—a non-communicable disease (NCD) that occurs when the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively utilize the insulin it produces; thus causing elevation of glucose level in the blood—has shown a rapid growth of prevalence rate globally. [1]According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), there are approximately 415 million adults suffering from diabetes worldwide, and more than 542,000 children live with type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Augusto Litonjua, Father of Philippine Endocrinology and President of the Philippine Center for Diabetes Education Foundation (PCDEF) Inc., shed light on the causes and risk factors for diabetes. He said that the culprit in diabetes is not the fact we eat but rather, the sugar which is found in fruits and in processed foods.

Dr. Augusto Litonjua, Father of Philippine Endocrinology and President of Philippine Center for Diabetes Education Foundation (PCDEF) Inc.
Hindi po ‘yong cholesterol ang nagiging sanhi ng pagtaas ng triglyceride, blood pressure, at diabetes.  Iyan po nagsisimula sa asukal na ang tawag ay fructose,” added Dr. Litonjua.
[2]Fructose, a type of naturally occurring sugar found in numerous foods such as soft drinks, commercial cereals, dried fruits, among others, is a known cause of insulin resistance which is a precursor to diabetes.

Dr. Litonjua noted that the fat buildup inside a person’s stomach causes complications in the liver which then leads to NCDs such as hypertension and diabetes.
President of the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (PSEDM) Dr. Pepito dela Peña capped off the event with a lecture on the importance of exercise and maintaining physical fitness for a diabetic person.

President of the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (PSEDM) Dr. Pepito dela Peña

“Being sedentary, o ‘pag laging nakaupo, stiffens the joints, weakens the muscles, affects the circulatory system by fat accumulation, and the heart loses strength,” said Dr. dela Peña.
According to him, “sitting disease” is one of the most common conditions today that is difficult to tackle as it has become a normal practice for many, that is why he encouraged the public to exercise regularly.

Meanwhile, event partners The Diabetes Store (TDS) and PhilHealth also talked about their respective campaigns in relation to the metabolic disease.

PhilHealth Regional South Anabelle Llanto and diabetes educator and The Diabetes Store representative Patricia Mae Recto

TDS is the country’s first one-stop-shop for diabetes, catering to all needs concerning diabetes. It offers a wide array of products and services that help people with diabetes check and manage their respective conditions.

Patricia Mae Recto, diabetes educator and representative of TDS, discussed about grocery shopping assistance to help guide diabetes patients with proper nutrition diet.
“Pag kakain tayo, dapat balanced. Dapat may rice, protein, vegetables, fruits, fat, and milk,” said Recto.

She also advised to always plan ahead of time and bring a shopping list when going to the grocery store so that a person knows which foods to buy and to avoid.

Thereafter, Head of Marketing of PhilHealth Regional South Anabelle Llanto explained the PhilHealth’s benefit packages that a diabetes patient can apply for and its availing requirements.

Naka-case rate po ang diabetes depende sa type nito. Usually kapag diabetes, nag-re-range ng PhP 15,000 pataas,” Llanto said.

PhilHealth is the no. 1 health insurance company in the Philippines, implementing universal health coverage for over two decades by helping pay for the medical bills of the sick.

Hataw Na: Hataw Galaw Para sa Kalusugan

As a part of the Sweet Escape’s push for the betterment of living with diabetes, it also brought the second Hataw Na: Hataw Galaw Sayaw Para sa Kalusugan Intercollegiate Urban Dance Competition.

The competition aims to encourage people with diabetes and their families to embrace a healthier and active lifestyle through physical activities such as dancing.

Being physically active makes a person less prone to diabetes and its complications. By encouraging the youth to support the advocacy in such manner, Sweet Escape believes that the fight against diabetes will become stronger over the years to come.

All participating groups were required to incorporate Sweet Escape’s theme of promoting health in their dance routine as a part of the judging criteria. The panel of judges was composed of Ms. Presy Tamayo, Axcess4Life Zumba Instructor; Mr. Arnel Enriquez, Dance Director of Cultural and Tourism Office of Muntinlupa City; and Mr. Hudson Pelayo, Operations manager of FAME Inc.

Among the nine groups that showcased their talents and competed for the Hataw Na grand title, Sibol Dance Crew from ICCT Cainta was named as this year’s Hataw Na grand champion, followed by CEU Street Squad from Centro Escolar University as the 1st runner-up, and AMA Makati Dance Crew from AMA Computer College Makati as the 2nd runner-up.

The event also featured raffle draws for the event participants; a Zumba party led by Axcess4Life Wellness Solutions Inc. members; a ballroom intermission dance presented by The Muntinlupa Yaman ng Kalinangan Dance Company; and a karate demo session headed by the members of the Team Shitokai PKL Philippines who are known as the League of Champions.

The modern Juan paves the way for gender equality at home with Ariel’s #JuanWash

MANILA, Philippines — August 24, 2017 — Perhaps no era has prompted a more dramatic shift in gender norms than this one; and these changes are most evident in one of the most basic facets of daily life — chores.

Where household tasks were once viewed as “women’s work” decades prior, nowadays, a more equal division of tasks for cooking, cleaning, laundry duties, and the like in the new millennium is far from unusual.
According to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), Filipino men are getting more and more involved in household work. In fact, statistics show that a significant increase was seen in the beginning of 2000s, with employed men allotting an average of 5 hours working on chores. This is a big jump, compared to the average of 1.87 hours from the numbers gathered on employed men from 1979.

With these findings, it’s exciting to see how this would continue to take off to new heights. A contemporary and fresh perspective on equality always starts from the core of the community, the family, and this is precisely why Ariel wants to keep the conversation going for every Juan.

As an homage to the men who show their support with the simple yet powerful act of contributing to housework, Ariel’s #JuanWash campaign seeks to inspire men to embrace one of the crucial roles in making a house a home by simply chipping in on the laundry. On September 1, 2017, Ariel will be launching the campaign online as a thank you to the Juan Washers, or the men who confidently help with the laundry thanks to Ariel Power Gel that makes washing clothes easily done in no time at all.

“For a long time, it has been common for women to have a bigger share in terms of household chores. With the rise of double-income homes and a more open-minded cultural landscape, men are now much more accepting of the idea of contributing to the housework.”

Many homes have their laundry washed twice a week. If the men of the household were to set aside one day for laundry, this can mean a world of difference for the family as a whole. As a convenient reminder of how each week gives men an opportune moment to show their support, Ariel is looking to dedicate Fridays as #JuanWash days. With this slight addition to their weekly routine, the men of the household can be a New Man as an expert in laundry, all thanks to Ariel Power Gel that makes superior clean effortless. Especially formulated for better stain removal, anyone can now reach the new standard of laundry with Ariel #JuanWash.

By celebrating the men who take a stand for equality through #JuanWash, Ariel continues to break barriers after coming from the successful launch of #AhonPinay – a project in partnership with TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) that sought to provide women with more work opportunities by training them in commonly male-dominated jobs. Through #JuanWash, Ariel further emphasizes the advocacy of empowering Filipinos by showcasing the modern Juan’s role in laundry chores as a critical step towards welcoming the change to lead. Because someone who is man enough to do laundry, is someone who cares enough to let the women in their lives have the same opportunity to progress even more.

In partnership with Eat Bulaga, Ariel will be scouring through many different barangays in Metro Manila to find Juan Washers every Friday, starting on September 1. Not only is this meant to put the spotlight on individual Juan Washers, but it’s a way to show everyone how valuable their role is in further pushing equality in the family and in the community.

A lot is in store for Ariel’s #JuanWash initiative, and we hope you can also take part in spreading the word for this nationwide movement! Go ahead and be a part of the change by contributing to your share of the household chores with #JuanWash – one wash at a time.

To learn more, visit Ariel’s website, Facebook, and Youtube page.
