A Century of Philippine Art Exhibit Event Review

Works of art that have lasted for over a century may have a price tag but these are truly priceless.

Timeless treasures were placed on display by the various art galleries that participated in the A Century of Philippine Art Exhibit that was held last Sept. 22, 2016, at the world-class Century City Mall located at Kalayaan Avenue, Makati.

The various galleries that contributed their art work, time, and effort to make this first-class event a reality are featuring artworks from up 150 years ago until the present at the 4th floor of Century City Mall are:

Galeria de las Islas https://www.facebook.com/GALERIADLASISLAS/
located at
744 General Luna Street
Manila, Philippines

Galerie Astra https://www.facebook.com/ph.galerieastra/
located at
2/F LRI Design Plaza, 210 N. Garcia St., Bel Air II
Makati, Philippines

Transwing Art Gallery https://www.facebook.com/Kunstgallery/
located at
G/F Foremost Corporate Center, 102 West Avenue, Brgy. Phil-Am
Quezon City

The display was outstanding, unlike dreary museums, a walk through time as each piece was strategically displayed, making the large area come alive with history.
Galeria De las Islas Owner, Robert Lane
There was a fashion show and the gliding movements of the classically beautiful Filipina models enhanced the art works even more. After the models walked, they stood beside a display, statuesque, the impact of the art work that was made more alive as their beautiful gowns echo the past, setting the scene.

Century City Mall GM, Joaquin Tamano, Jr
The wine flowed, the canapés were served, and perfect music from Yupangco Music Academy played during this one-of-a-kind event that had the gracious Cherry Genato Event Exhibit Director.
It was unforgettable as each work of art was, making an overwhelming impact on the guests, who would take away the memory of what they had the privilege to view at the opening event of "A Century of Philippine Art Exhibit".

Sugar Free Might be a Lie! Choose Stevia UNO Coffee and Juice

The sweetness that you want that doesn't come from sugar are in these kinds UNO coffee and juice. Stevia is made from a plant that is 400 times sweeter than sugar and it doesn't cause sugar levels to go up.

Many products claim to be sugar-free and the lies are radically bad especially for those who have health concerns because of high sugar levels such as diabetes. Sugar free can mean it was made with molasses, or the company has replaced it with synthetic sweeteners. That isn't good at all, as they mask it with words like
anhydrous dextrose, brown sugar, cane crystals, cane sugar, corn sweetener, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, crystal dextrose, evaporated cane juice, fructose sweetener, and more.

What you drink makes a difference to your health.
This is why I recommend these two products from UNO.

UNO Premier Prime Juice

UNO Premier Prime Juice comes in a box that contains 20 sachets. It is basically a ponkan and pineapple flavored drink mix. It has a lovely red berry color and tastes rich in goodness. It is slightly sweet, with a mild citric edge, and it is very refreshing to drink, as a couple of sips is enough to quench the thirst.

UNO Premier Prime Juice rendered a soothing feeling to the back of my mouth and to my throat as I was suffering from a cough. That in itself is enough reason for me to endorse UNO Premier Prime Juice as it provide relief from my discomfort meaning that it does work as a health drink. The UNO Premier Prime Juice contains mangosteen and goji berry extract which are natural products that have health benefits. The sweetener is Stevia.

UNO 8 in 1 Premier Black Coffee

The 8 in 1 Premier Black Coffee of UNO comes in a box that contains 20 sachets. To make the coffee, one sachet is to be added to a 60 to 90 ml of hot water and stirred. This coffee is easily dissolved and leaves no granules at the bottom of the cup.

UNO name product is a health coffee. It contains 8 ingredients aside from the coffee base itself. The 8 ingredients are Agaricus Blazei Murill, Marine Collagen, Maca, DHA, Guyabano, Calcuim Lactate, and Stevia.

The thing I admire about UNO is their complete transparency in the ingredients. The coffee box label says that it does have 1 gram of sugar, which is totally honest of them instead of masking and lying to the consumers that their product is completely sugar free. It does have a superb sweetness that only can come from Stevia, and you will notice the difference as this natural sweetener is not cloyingly sweet. A little sugar daily is actually good for diabetics as they cannot go on a sugar low as that cause them to get ill. As many with this health concern know, it is maintenance, and blood sugar levels cannot be too low or too high.

The UNO
8 in 1 Premier Black Coffee has a medium to strong coffee taste and for me, should not have the minimal amount of hot water placed into it. Even if has a lot of ingredients, it does have the true taste of coffee as the other add ons for health benefits cannot be discerned by the palate. 8 in 1 Premier Black Coffee does not cause palpitations nor nervousness. I would recommend a limit to one cup daily for those who suffer from the ill effects of drinking caffeinated coffee. I  do suffer from that and avoid drinking coffee, and UNO did address this health concern of mine. The 8 in 1 Premier Black Coffee also can be drank cold with ice, and that way, it is also very good.

Follow and like UNO to learn more and be part of the prosperity in health and wellness.

Kabisera Restaurant Review

Open Air Bar and Dining Area

Where the experience of eating Filipino cuisine is leveled up as the standard flavors and textures are enhanced.
At the head of the table, which is what Kabisera means - when it comes to excellence in Filipino cuisine, I have yet to find a leche flan (milk flan) that is as thick and as creamy as the one at Kabisera.  I couldn't believe it was possible for such an excellent leche flan to be found as one of the ingredients in their halo-halo (a mix of small ingredients such as sweetened beans topped with shaved ice with milk and sugar added to it). And, it has macapuno balls that break apart lovingly in your mouth, a totally unique experience. Macapuno is what a coconut that has thicker interior edible white lining making it full and this is considered as a delicacy.
Leche Flan

Various Dishes

I greatly recommended this restaurant for Filipinos and our foreign visitors to dine at because of 3 things - adherence to the true taste of the dish, the affordability, and the leveling up of the flavors and textures.

Typical Filipino street food cart
Second Floor
Kabisera has a great location at G/F Quadrant B3 Bonifacio High Street, 7th avenue, Taguig. The atmosphere and food presentation is wonderful. This place has an outdoor seating area, and indoor open air bar that can seat around 60, a small air conditioned dining area, and the 2nd floor that is perfect for events which can seat 160 people comfortably. The staff is well-trained, the service is great, and the prices are amazingly reasonable for this area.

As a Filipino, I do love our own cuisine, and unlike many other restaurants that I have tried where there are only a few items that are superb, the food that I tried here was all so good, I yearn to go back for more. A must-have is the perfect combination of Kare-Kare (a kind of beef stew in peanut sauce) and the crispy pata (deep fried pork leg) as these dishes have less fat and that extra edge of flavor that makes for me, Kabisera one of the best Filipino restaurants.

You may want to see more of their dishes by visiting the Kabisera Facebook page.

“Platinum Karaoke knows that Alden and Maine embody the same personality and vibe of the new Alpha Mic,” quipped Ruth Ana Bautista, Platinum's assistant marketing manager. “Aside from that, both of them are also known to strengthen bonding relationships, having strong ties with their respective families, and attesting that karaoke is a big part of their momentous family bondings.”

And just like the Platinum Alpha Mic Karaoke, ALDUB is a truly a game changer. They are the phenomenal love team that rocked afternoon television’s audience – nothing like anyone has ever seen and experienced before. Their tandem is organic, fresh, believable and full of life. And this is what continuously endears them to their fans.

After the anniversary of their famous characters and the launch of their 1st movie together, Alden and Maine are set to reach a whole new level in their careers – next level as they would say. They are still set to go to new heights and who knows, to a new level in their "love team" relationship.

Venus Reclining on a Sea Monster with Pluto An Isabelo L. Tampinco masterpiece (1850-1933)
Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, reclines on a fantastic sea monster in this allegory of Lust. The goddess entwines her fingers in the creature's mane, a gesture that represents erotic intent while in the background, Pluto adds to the amorous imagery by holding her leg, undoubtedly meant to suggest the burning ardor of desire. The sea monster carries Venus through the frothy waves, as she rests back her gaze looks of into the distance with anticipation.

The Crucifixion by no other than Isabelo L. Tampinco Carved on  Yakal     Wood is an astounding piece of art that illustrated the hardship of Jesus     with Mary the Madonna, John and Peter standing on rocks and angels     holding the blooded Christ. Isabelo Tampinco was one of the greatest     Sculptures during Spanish and American Colonial periods.  Realism and     detail in his works through sensual lines of the human form and the     animated eyes of the statues. Most of it are spiritual in nature which     includes statues of saints, angels and the like.

Among the famous nation figures that Guillermo Tolentino used as a     model for his sculpture is the most famous yet non-existent, Don     Crisostomo.
Tolentino used his creative imagination on creating this figurehead of the     famous heroin, Don Crisostomo Ibarra, of the novel, Noli Me Tangere by     Dr.     Jose Rizal, which draws inspiration to many revolutionary heroes of the     Philippines. A great and complicated work for Tolentino as sculpting the face     of someone that exists only in the pages of literature is something     that needs coordination of a wild imagination and a well skilled hand to     make.
In his sculpture, Don Crisostomo is a well-built young man with broad     shoulder and Spanish looking face, a perfect physical description for a     well-educated man.
