Feb 23 at 6pm: An Open Invite to Sit-down at the Park for BGC Cats

Meet, gather and occupy the park in front of Shang Fort where the cats used to live and taken from. Light up candles, offer flowers, bring cat food for the remaining cats in BGC, and if possible, bring our pets on Friday, 23 Feb 2017, after office hours from 6pm onwards.

This is a collective effort initiated by concerned citizens of the pet lover community of Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

This is a peaceful and quiet sit down gathering at the park.

Click this link to go to the Facebook event page of Sit-down at the Park for BGC Cats

There will be no demonstrations, no noise, no loud music, no placards, no disruption of whatsoever - just a peaceful gathering like the usual stopovers to sit down and play with our little furry friends that used to occupy the par. Attendance and participation is voluntary. Let our volume resonate our message. You may join this pet lover gathering.

Let us have the heart and concern on the importance of coexistence with pets and animals in our community.

Attendance is purely voluntary and that this initiative is a collective effort of those who wish to keep an animal-friendly community.

Author's Note
I wrote a blog post about the incident that brought about this sit-down gathering which for me, is like a wonderful, touching, goodbye wake. It is a sad time for many pet lovers in the Philippines. I advocate these cats and animals everywhere in our country.

A Modern Filipina's Guide to Dandruff-Free, Luscious Locks in 2018

With one month down the line this 2018, have you started ticking off boxes from your new year’s resolution? Once the new year kicks in, people usually create new goals, embrace positive change, and focus on becoming a better version of themselves – whether it means exploring new job opportunities, creating a habit of living a fit and healthy lifestyle or learning something new. Filipinas, the new year can also mean breaking bad hair care habits and saying goodbye to dry, itchy and damaged hair with visible white flakes.

To keep the ball rolling, it’s time for Filipinas to improve their hair care routine to keep the scalp flake and itch-free. Head and Shoulders, the world’s number one shampoo brand, asked three social media influencers their secret to maintaining lusciously soft and beautifully moisturized hair to come up with a brief guide to keeping a woman’s crowning glory healthy and dandruff-free this year.
On Brushing the Hair
Brushing has been proven to benefit the hair. Model and filmmaker Janina Manipol can attest to that as she makes it a habit to comb her long, straight hair to redistribute the oil from her scalp. She explained, “I make it a point to comb it [hair] in the morning, afternoon and evening so that the oil in my scalp evens out all throughout my hair.”
Just like Janina, digital media influencer and vlogger Haley Dasovich shares the same secret in maintaining the lusciousness of her long locks from morning until night. “I keep my hair routine simple but I make sure I keep my curls stay bouncy and not tangled by combing my hair not just during the day but also before I sleep.” Haley said.
On Washing and Drying the Hair
For some, keeping the natural gloss of the hair may not be easy to do, but Haley has found a way to solve it. She shared, “I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner every 2 to 3 days. And on days when I use conditioner, I make sure to evenly coat the body of my hair to its tip and leave it on for a few minutes for my hair to fully absorb.”
When drying the hair, model and actress Chie Filomeno told us how she keeps her hair strands free from damage. “With shoots here and there, my hair is often exposed to heat from blowers and hair irons. But during my off-duty days, I really believe in air drying versus heated drying to keep my hair’s natural beauty and lush.” Chie said.
No matter what your lifestyle is, may it be being a model and actress, a YouTube content creator or filmmaker, investing in quality hair care products is a non-negotiable to have beautifully moisturized locks and a flake-free scalp that can keep up with your daily routine. And Chie, Haley, and Janina know this very well. Janina added, “Keeping my hair healthy and dandruff free 24/7 is difficult, but investing in good brushes and products like Head and Shoulders Suprême help ease that process. I hear Argan is all the rave in beauty nowadays and I’m glad that this product has just that.”
This 2018, Filipinas need not worry about their luscious locks. With the new Head and Shoulders Suprême, hair and scalp are nourished and deeply moisturized. It is the brands first ever premium line of shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for the needs of women.
The new formula contains proven and effective Micro Zinc technology for greater cosmetic hair care benefits while caring for the scalp, and Argan Oil essence which is known for its moisturizing effect as well as hair repair and scalp benefits.
Head and Shoulders Suprême range has two variants. The Head and Shoulders Suprême Moisture shampoo and conditioner which provides intense moisture to the hair from root to tip and Head and Shoulders Suprême Smooth shampoo and conditioner that smoothens hair from the scalp to achieve perfectly polished hair all day.
With the new Head and Shoulders Suprême and healthy hair care habits, Filipinas can finally say goodbye to dandruff and dry hair this 2018 because every woman’s crowning glory is guaranteed to be moisturized and lusciously soft.
Head & Shoulders Suprême shampoo and conditioner is available at Php150 SRP per 170ml bottle in all major supermarkets, sari-sari stores, drugstores, and convenience stores nationwide, as well as on e-commerce at http://www.lazada.com.ph/head-and-shoulders-official-store/

Shawarma Bros: What's New Bro?

Dude Food Galore

Introducing more items to the already awesome menu, the "What's New Bro?" event was a such a fun party. That means that we were getting stuffed to the max with unlimited, free-flowing drinks, food which was so plentiful, and people that were so chill.

Dude food is the thing that guys like to eat - and lots of it. More than that, dude food has to be not just good but great. Guys with big appetites are in for a satisfying foodie experience because all the servings are large with enough carbs to get one truly happy after a workout. And, of course, this place is not exclusive for dudes, as the doors and warm welcoming smiles are open to all.

One notable thing about Shawarma Bros is that the food isn't oily at all. Healthy and plenty, there are spices that make the blood circulation much better. A happy tummy is guaranteed and the palate will not just get tickled, it will be satisfied.

As tomorrow never dies with extra rice, at this place, you don't need to order another rice serving unless you have that hefty appetite as the rice is more than enough. The meat is soft and juicy, and there is a special touch of something extra on every plate like those crunchy toppings.
The new menu items are a must-try, indeed. One can never get tired of eating at Sharwarma Bros as there is this thing - like a secret ingredient - that taste so good, and a great feeling after eating, not the sleepy kind of stupor, but the full yet I can still move and think feel.

2 Survivors: 38 BGC Cats Missing

Is this an act of animal cruelty punishable under the Philippine law?

Cats do not fall under the category of pests. Pests include termites, flies, and other harmful ones such as cockroaches and snake. For PestBusters to take out the cats from what they considered as their home, cats which had a good life - though they had orders from Shangri-La hotel - is an act of massive animal cruelty which is punishable under Philippine law.  Who is responsible and will answer for this incident? Pest control took out 38 cats from the Bonifacio Global City park. It happened at night time on Feb. 16, 2018, which was Chinese New Year.

These 38 cats were cared for and protected by the community such as the Facebook group known as Cats of BGC. They had vaccinations and the newly born kittens had feeding bowls and more provided by them. The outcry for the cats to be returned and for the pest control which is PestBusters to answer for what they did is viral on the net. These cats, who are integral to the park as these are considered as pets, had a good life and are part of the eco-system to prevent rats. From the information gathered online, the one who ordered these cats to be rounded up is Shangri-La Hotel BGC.

In the Filipino tradition, where the property lines are the rule for complaints, like when a dog trespasses to eat a chicken of the neighbor, the neighbor has the right if they had caught the dog on their premises. These cats were not at the hotel premises according to Facebook information.

2 surviving cats according to these Facebook posts.

As the outcry has become the pain for the BGC community and pet lovers here and internationally as these cats were loved as pets. It is our native cats that are being subjected to being removed when these are not pests but pets. If the hotel management does have problems because of the cats, they should have secure their premises as that kind of problem will always exist, as cats do prowl.

It is but correct for us not to ignore this incident. It is unfair for these protected cats or our native cats to get such treatment. If it is animal cruelty and those who did so, must answer to the law of the land, as an apology after the fact is useless when they knowingly did what they did to helpless cats.

It is the time that us Filipinos stand up for our rights and protect our animals. It is not good for big business just to do what they want, without caring about the law, and swoop down to remove what is not on their property.

This incident has gone viral with the Facebook post of Marcelle John Marcelino. This is the link. https://web.facebook.com/marcellejohn.marcelino/posts/10216653759442825

Tanduay Athletics Locked In for Grassroots Basketball

Tanduay Distillers Inc. president Lucio “Bong” Tan, Jr. is taking his support to grassroots sports a step further as he goes on full offensive for Batangas Tanduay Athletics in the new Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Tan, whose passion for basketball was cultivated in childhood, believes he saw a formidable ally in MPBL founder Sen. Manuel Pacquiao in providing opportunities for local talents from the regions to advance their basketball dreams. “When we formed Tanduay Athletics, we had grassroots youth development as one of its major thrusts. We believe we can give equal opportunities to aspiring basketball talents from the cities and the regions through MPBL,” Tan said. The MPBL features teams that represent a province, city or municipality in a home-and-away set up, where players get to play in front of hometown fans. Each team is required to have at least three players that are homegrown to the area they represent.
Aside from Batangas Tanduay Athletics, other teams playing for the MPBL include Bataan Defenders, Bulacan Kuyas, Valenzuela Classic, Marikina Athletics, Caloocan Supremos, Navotas Redcore and Muntinlupa. “We put our hope in the next generation to make better their lives and become useful to society. To give meaning to words, we support avenues that will enable them like the MPBL and Batangas is close to home. That makes this endeavor special and worthwhile,” Tan further explained. Tanduay Distillers’ alcohol refinery Absolut Distillers Inc. has been operating for 26 years in Lian, Batangas. It is one of the country’s most advanced distilleries that has received multiple local and international awards for operating on zero waste and employing green practices. “We have a very encouraging start with the strong performance of the team. We hope to continue the momentum. But in every league or sport we support, what’s important is how we are making a difference in the lives of the athletes. How they develop as individuals and how they will continue to inspire a nation as an athlete like Manny Pacquiao is why we are here to support,” Tan concluded. The Batangas-Tanduay Athletics had an early win during a match with Valenzuela Classic and Bataan Defenders as former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players Val Acuna and Lester Alvarez lead the way for the new team. MPBL games air every Tuesday, Thursday, and ‪Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m in ABSCBN Sports and Action. ‬‬ Tanduay Distillers Inc. is a member of the LT Group of Companies. Tanduay is the Philippines’ top rhum maker, which is also distributed in Asia and the United States, among other countries in the world. Likewise, the company produces spirits, wines, brandies, gins, and vodka. This is a registered company in the Philippine stock exchange as a subsidiary of Tanduay Holdings Inc.

McDonald's shows us what it means to be a perfect pair

MANILA, FEBRUARY 9, 2018 - Some things are good on their own but even better together—just like McDonald’s Best Tasting Chicken McDo and World Famous Fries, and two of the most iconic Filipino showbiz personalities, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
These two pairs were the highlight of McDonald’s latest TVC, where we see “ShaGab” chancing upon each other in a McDonald’s store and enjoying a quiet meal together—their first after a very long time.
“Strikingly, there are many similarities between our Chicken McDo with Fries Meal and ShaGab. The Chicken McDo with Fries Meal is one of our best-sellers and has truly become a favorite of our customers over the years. In the same way, ShaGab is one of the most-loved tambalans all time, truly transcending generations,” shares Christina Lao, McDonald’s Marketing Director.
And just like Sharon and Gabby, who are popular in their own right but pack a more powerful punch when paired up, Filipinos love Chicken McDo and Fries separately, but even more so when enjoyed together in one complete meal experience.
Take McDonald’s Chicken McDo, juicy, tender, and cooked to golden perfection—delicious on its own but even more enjoyable with McDonald’s World Famous Fries, made with premium potatoes that are perfectly golden on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. You’re definitely in for a treat as you double your enjoyment with this complete chicken meal experience.
McDonald’s made the ShaGab comeback possible to let everyone appreciate what a perfect pair means—whether it’s their favorite stars or their favorite Chicken McDo and Fries combination.

Enjoy the perfect tandem of the Chicken McDo and World Famous Fries while watching the latest TVC starring Sharon and Gabby on McDonald’s YouTube Channel here https://www.youtube.com/user/mcdonaldsPH. Grab this perfect pair via Dine-In, Drive-Thru or McDelivery!
