Manila Under Fire Cooks

When my daughter said she was going to drop by the place that I worked at in Tagaytay, she first said there will be two of then. As that Saturday draw nearer, the number of visitors to arrive multiplied, just like Gremlins when they get wet.

Though the group was going to bring food, I had to make food too, and with these Kanin Lords arriving, it was time to make a lot of rice, for tomorrow never dies basta may extra rice. I was excited, of course, as sheer fun with lot of laughter was a sure thing. That Saturday, my daughter, Allison arrived, she is the one on the right of this pic below, more friends, and Gab Gamboa and Bigs VillaseƱor, the frontman and guitarist of Manila Under Fire, the Pambangsa Muziklaban Grand Champion band of 2013, came over a while after.

It was chill time, no issues, enjoy a great break. Bigs was the official tester of every sofa in the place, crashing in each one. And, FYI, he doesn't snore.

Going heavy on the carb intake! Pasta, ulam with more rice please, and I made pita dough for grilling. And, Gabbie went to the grill and did the cooking! Hot off the grill, Bigs was the one that helped with plating to serve the group.

One pita bread hot of the grill is never enough, as I made the usual balsamic vinegar and oil and got creative making a pizza sauce dip that was a total hit.

This Manila Under Fire music video was complimented by a director friend who said that he liked the way they used the rails and the way the camera moved. The music? It rocks! And, the band members? Charming, polite, and awesomely fun to be with, oh, and did I mention good-looking?

You've Been Blogged! Level Up Blogging

Due to insistent bloggers demand from FrugalYetFab's Mary Jane Dionela and Arra Ordeza of
Acodeza.com who sent me unrelenting PMs to use my blog in the same way that they do, it has been less than a month since I have decided to be part of the local blogging groups. And it is a fun experience, going to events and writing Press Releases that keeps me busy until the wee hours of the morning, and I have made new friends and get to see others more often. Blogging for the local market has made me make changes to the design of this blog, which is still in the making with minor tweaks still needed to be done and brought about the challenge to be more active in expanding my reach with social networking sites.

I have always geared most of what I write for an international audience with this blog and my other blogs, do sponsored posts for selected restaurants, other business, and musicians, which I aid in their online marketing, and for charity posts and complaint posts as do get urged by many of the contest joiners to "use my blade" with the powerful reach of my online network, and notably, Twitter does get results. As a #Promonatic, meaning a contest joiner, sadly, some promos and contests do have marketing fails and there have been solutions achieved, as I desire to bring about awareness to the company heads keeping in mind that people do make mistakes, that sometimes things happen, and that it is in the best interest of any company to resolve matters immediately as we are the consumers and contest joiners are vital to sending their message out. And, for the generous companies that do give out prizes properly, I would like to state, thank you so much and do share the joy and opportunity to win online. I do not blog about restaurant issues as I do believe that it is best to talk with the management for any complaints so that there can be changes made, instead of jeopardizing their business with a bad review.

Wielding Power Wisely

#ResponsibleMedia is one of the hashtags of Blogapalooza and with great power comes great responsibility. Note that it just takes one tweet to send a message out to the entire world. Thinking before I write and choosing to post only about the products that I believe in, and what is worth writing about does make the difference.

And, as one of the so-called "mentors" like when many of #Promonatics suddenly became writers to make a tremendous amount of money with Bubblews and now, seeing that my meeting with the marketing of a certain brand has brought about improvements to our sponsored PR posts, I would like state that there are more positive changes that need to be done in the blogging world.

Protecting the Bloggers

To post is work. We have internet to pay. We spend time posting. We have the reach. All-around, photographer, writer, social media marketer, us bloggers do need to get the rate we deserve. This I state because I have heard lousy feedback on the way certain bloggers have been treated upon being invited. Not enough products or a token to cover for the transportation and the effort made, and not even adequate food? That is blogger abuse.

Not all bloggers are equal. Though I like the fact that this is the case right now, that everyone gets the same kind of loot bag or token, marketing and brands should assess each blogger. It's not just the number of followers, views, but the results, the reach, and the way that the blog posts are written.

And, all bloggers that are requested to post should be compensated, with products or with a token amount. Our free ad space is reserved for businesses of family and friends, what we want to blog about such as a prize we won or a restaurant that we willingly wish to promote, and for charity. If a company starts up and needs bloggers, they ideally should factor the cost of online marketing as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and other social networking sites are not enough - blogs do appear in search engine results and provide that vital backlink.

Leveling Up Blogging Skills

If we don't get paid enough, there is no motivation, and the results is repeated content as the 'favor' press release might be picked up by some bloggers - and then Google will shoot down the content. These press releases can be placed with a few edits, ensuring that the essentials are there, which are the who, what, when, where, and why, and the how, and then a call to action. Then, each post will be original and greatly aid in the ranking of the blog.

Longer content, more information, testimonials, and more can be done with each post. Blogging is just like talking, and when doing so, it should be done in an engaging and informative manner.

Blogging can be made better by using the free online tools available such as Ginger which is a grammar and spell-checker, Pixlr Expess for editing images and Canva for creating those awesome images for social media posts.

Blogging is a skill. It can be learned. Constant, never-ending improvement. C.A.N.I.

In less than a month after entering the local blogging groups, I have become a Blogapalooza blogger. I am thankful for the recognition and the invite. And, I urge each and every blogger to constantly improve, as that is what I do, learning all the time, sharing the knowledge, and bring about results by working on each post carefully, taking time to share it with the right hashtags, and aiding the companies that do make the time, budget, and effort to treat us bloggers fairly.

FREE 150 HelloPay Shopping Money Gone?

I had excitedly signed up for the HelloPay website. The incentive was that there would be free shopping money. The amount that was placed into my account was 150 pesos, enough to buy a pair of slippers or other things like lipstick.

I delayed my purchase having sent out my referral link. Each sign up would have gained me 250 pesos after they shop. I sent out a few and shared on my Facebook wall.

And, today, I tried to shop using the 150 credited to my account on HelloPay, and much to my surprise, I need to place in a credit card number. I checked their website, and saw that I do not have a Hello Pay credit card number, so I left it at that.

Then, I saw that many of my Facebook friends complaining of exactly the same issue.

Is this the end of the sign up 150 pesos credit? If it is so, why can't I use what I am supposed to get? My friends can't use their HelloPay credits, too!

Another marketing trick? I don't think so, but maybe the volume of sign ups and referrals are high, so they might have decide to close this promo - yet, don't I deserve what I got during the promo? And, my other friends do have more to shop with at Lazada, as HelloPay is exclusive for Lazada online shopping website.

As a Promonatic for many years, I go online to make extra for me and my family. I do not look at the 150 as small, as what I do is accumulate winnings. Since I started, I have won cellpones, tablets, supplements, make up, lotions, and so much more, and I have gotten free shopping money before.

Online, there is no DTI that closely guards such promos, deals, contests, and other marketing strategies. Does it have to get to that extent? The responsibility is to the consumers, and there can be action taken, now.

I would like to request that HelloPay address this issue and be fair, the ones who do have the credits, give it, because if you wanted to give it away, do so freely and announce when you stopped, and why, because we are your customers and we have our rights.

Dear Hello Pay,

Please allow us to pay with what you had paid us to join your website and for referrals.

Thank you for your immediate action,

Tateh AquaBiz: New Free App Makes Planning and Running an Aquaculture Business More Profitable

Award-winning Santeh Feeds Corporation offers the free download of the Tateh Aquabiz app that makes owning an aquaculture business easier to plan and is a great aid in ensuring profitability.
The Aquaculture Business

The Philippines has the longest length of shores in the world when combines as this country is composed of over a thousand islands. This means that fishing is the way of life for many people. You'll see fish pens in many areas and there there are places that create pools for aquaculture for the various species that sell well, such as prawns.

From the stream that can be harnessed for water, to a lake, to the sea, there can be aquaculture and investing in this kind of business venture is a wise move. With proper computation, there will be less of a margin of error and this is one factor that greatly ensures profit.

The New App Launched

Santeh Feeds Corporation, the 2012 Asian Feed Miller Award winning company, that has been in the industry for over 2 decades, launched Tateh Aquabiz app at the Agrilink 2015 that was held at World Trade Center, Pasay City on Oct. 15 - 17. This manufacturer of Tateh Aquafeeds, is the pioneer in the production of marine fish feeds for grouper, pompano, seabass and snappers, crustaceans such as crab and freshwater shrimp and of fresh water fish feeds like koi, carp and catfish.
The different aspects of the aquaculture business can be tackled with the Tateh AquaBiz app: - The kind of species to raise - Where to get the stock - Find sources of quality fry, fingerlings and post larvae - Access to aquaculture equipment and inputs supplier - Current market information - Weather reports, tide levels and dam levels. And, Aquabiz App is more than that! It is the invaluable aid calculating the daily feed requirement for the species. With Aquabiz, overfeeding can be prevented as which will make the business run at a loss and pollute the fish farm water, and underfeeding also may be avoided that would jeopardize the full growth potential of the marine animals. This app has a feed conversion ratio (FCR) calculator that will show how much of the feed has actually been converted into fish.

Are you interested in aqua culture? Are you interested in a business venture that would make profit as the demand for certain marine animals is high and will continue to escalate in the near future? Do you have an existing aquaculture business? It will be much easier to tackle the aquaculture business with the Tateh Aquabiz app that can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store.

ATC Evening Primrose: For Women

Kapag dalaga ka na hangang hindi ka na dinadatnan,
mayroon makakatulong sa iyo.

When I was in high school, I became absent when I get my period because I would have stomach cramps. Those cramps were so bad, I would lie down in bed for a couple of days. I felt weak. Now that I am older, having had babies, the cramps were not the same anymore, but it still felt uncomfortable.

Another problem with the onset of age became having mood swings, especially during those days. I would feel depressed sometimes. I was easily irritable and I did have hot flashes. These hot flashes were felt at the nape of my neck, and yes, I found a solution.

Delighted at the name of the ATC Evening Primrose, which sounds so lovely, I googled it before I bought and discovered what this food supplement can do for me. It helps balance the hormones and in since at that time, I was about to enter the second half of my life, I needed to do something! I took ATC Evening Primrose daily.

After a couple of weeks, the hot flashes had stopped. Then when I got mine, I felt okay, and hey, the blood flow was strong, unlike before. This is a positive thing for me because I don't want yet to be menopausal, though that will come one day - I seek all possible measures to stay as youthful as possible, naturally.

When you have yours or are in the stage of being menopausal, what do you take?

Many don't take anything. I was like that, too until I discovered that ATC Evening Primrose may:

- Provide relief to menstrual problems such as abdominal bloating, breast tenderness, and fatigue.
- Balance the hormonal system as when the hormonal changes do happen when we get older.

Try it, take it for a week, and you'll feel the difference

ATC Evening Primrose, the supplement for women, is available at Mercury Drug and all leading drugstores nationwide for SRP P6.00 per soft gel capsule

ATC Ginkgo Biloba: Maalaala Mo Kaya?

My Dad, Engr. Alonso Dominguez, with my Mom, my daughters, and me.

Maalaala Mo Kaya?

Our life is made up of  memories. This is what we are made up of, a culmination of what we are.

When my father had a stroke, he became bedridden. The left part of his body was paralyzed. He recovered and was able to move around with a cane but his left hand was no longer functioning. When I asked him if he remembered that he got paralyzed, he couldn't remember. He could not remember a lot of things especially for the business, so he got back on track, exercising his mind, by reading the documents and conversing with us, asking a lot of questions.

Dad took Ginkgo Biloba. Though he was weak, his memory became sharp again after the stroke. He had a heart attack many years before the stroke and one thing about my father was he followed the doctor's orders, and it included for him to take Ginkgo Biloba.

The picture above was taken during my parent's wedding anniversary after my Dad's stroke.

What is important is the quality of life that we have

My Dad remembered things. He knew what he ate, he remembered names, making kwento about the politicians on TV, and memorized our cell numbers. If I ask him what was the number of his friend, he would say, search my phone and the number is the one that ends with 48 because there are 3 numbers of the friend that is saved. He remembers that you promised to call and what time you said you will be home. He remembered what time my daughters stepped out, where they said they were going, and what time they got home.

Like the LLS (last song syndrome) which is that you will be singing the last song that you heard for a while, my Dad had this same issue but we called it the Last Problem Syndrome. This means that if we state a problem to Dad, it stick in his mind, and he will keep on asking daily until the problem is resolved and tries to figure out a solution if it is not, and he usually solves the problem. We just didn't want to tell him as we didn't want him to worry.

I miss my Dad. And, lately, when I started to forget things and started calling my kids by roll call, which is stating all their names, I took ATC Ginkgo Biloba because it worked for him. And, since I take this regularly, it is working for me.

For brain enhancement, take ATC Ginkgo Biloba.

We can keep our minds sharp and protect our memories.

ATC Ginkgo Biloba is extracted from the plant. This food supplement has the addition of maiden tree extracts, to make it more effective as a solution to:

- memory loss (pagiging ulyanin)
- reduction of the loss of the cognitive functions (r
easoning, memory , attention, and language)
- reduction of the loss of the primary senses (sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste)

- regulating the blood flow to the brain
- lowering the risk of stroke
- healing and repair of damaged cells due to age-related diseases

There are age-related concerns such as being "ulyanin", getting Alzhiemer's, and glaucoma. And, there are also mental health issues such as depression and mood disorders. ATC Ginkgo Biloba works as preventive alternative medicine and may be used as a natural cure, as this is the way this plant has been used as an herbal medicine by many Asian cultures for centuries.

Though one cannot expect great results overnight, there is tremendous improvement felt daily, and achieving a better quality of life does come about naturally with ATC food supplements.

For just SRP P6.00 per capsule, one retain the power of the mind with ATC Ginkgo Biloba.  This food supplement
is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide.

FREE Entrance! Ruweda: Hilong-hilo MV Premiere at Checkpoint

Oct. 15. It's happening. At 8:30 pm, the music video premiere of Ruweda - Hilong-hilo.
Thanks, great photographer, for Maxi's awesome pic!
And, my daughter, Maxi Quema, is included in the all-chill cast. One of the other cast members is Anton Silos of Project Bear.

This Ruweda MV that is surely going to make you see what it truly means to be dizzy, fizzy, giddy, in a way like never before.

Now if you were at Checkpoint when UDD, Razorback, Wilabaliw, or during their other eargasmic events, you know you have to come early to get nearby parking even if Metro Star Mall which is where Checkpoint is located has the only basement parking in BF.

When I went to the UDD concert at Checkpoint, the way I got in was to attach helicopter blades to the car, land on the MSM helipad, and open Checkpoint from the top. LOL! No, seriously, where there's a will, there's water. Ha-ha.

Peeps: Ruweda has been preparing intensely for this event and it's going to rock. There is a big screen at Checkpoint and the sound system is the best for this music video for that Hilong-hilo Ruweda experience.

You can expect to see your South friends like Edu Montilla of Project Bear, Gabbie Gamboa of Manila Under Fire and Biggs (did i spell that right?) who was the delegated sofa tester when they visited me in Tagaytay, and North peeps to flock over and some who might arise from Middle Earth. And, as you might know, the most beautiful gals do hang out at Checkpoint!

FREE entrance. Libreng palabas. Libre din pumasok. Beers are only at 55 bucks at Checkpoint. And, the bagnet is the original from Vigan or you might want to try the longannisa, too, as their rice meals only cost around 150. Please

On this music video premiere night, make sure to bring Bonamin, contra biyahilo, to give whoever can't rock the night away.

Tambayan 101: A Class You'll Love

Break too long? Need a break? Unlike the usual hangouts that are super public, you have a choice of where to go to - sleep?

Well, you can if you want to but there's much more to do, coz it's Tambayan 101, the place to go to when you want to hang out, study, chill, watch a movie, or just laze around. Instead of going to a friend's place or staying at home, it's good to go to this place that has cool aircon and wifi, alone or with company, it's up to you. And, FYI, that photo with the bunk bed above is in the main lounge that has a few more bunk beds you can stay on, the food counter, sofas, and tables.

Tambayan 101 has food and drinks at affordable prices. Their best seller is the nachos, and then they have burgers, sandwiches, and other stuff you'll love. There's cold coffee and hot coffee, other beverages - and beer!

What you can expect in this place is for it to be chill. And, if you get one of the 18 rooms, you can have a party or hang out to watch a movie which they have on hand, and the room rental is at 90 pesos per head, minimum of 2 peeps per room, and as many as you want for these sized rooms and much bigger rooms that this one featured. A smoke-free zone, though there is a smoking area just outside, another thing nice about the place is that there are various areas to go to, such as the lounge and eating area, the beverage station, and the 2nd and 3rd floor that has the individual rooms for rent per hour.

Open from 10 am until 9 pm, and never on a Sunday, if you're from La Salle or CSB, St. Scho, or want to go to a place near Taft that offers 18 rooms that you can use to study or to chill, then there's that special class-room for PSP games - the hangout where you can be best in recess is Tabayan 101.

Samu Eats: When Your Japanese Food Craving Starts

Samu Eats has been featured on Unang Hirit, the TV show, was on the September issue of Pulp Magazine, and has been reviewed by some of the best websites in the Philippines. Closer to home, Samu Eats is partly owned by my daughter, Timi Dominguez Quema.

Samu Eats is located at Z Compound, 33 Malingap Street. Teachers Village, Diliman, Quezon City. It is unique and has the best of Japanese dishes at highly affordable prices, which you can feast on, unlike other Japanese restaurants where the prices are prohibitive.

There is a complete line up of appetizers, and I greatly recommend that you start off with the by trying the original creations of Samu Eats such as this refreshing  or the  or , or the !

Tuna Salad, 130 pesos
Spicy Tuna Sashimi,140 pesos
California Maki, 99 bucks
Philadelphia Salmon Maki,180 pesos

There are different kinds of sushi and sashimi to choose from and what you can expect from Samu Eats is that it is fresh, newly prepared, and of high quality. And, that's just for starters, and I will show you the other great eats at Samu Eats.
